What in the Artificial Intelligence is going on?

I was on YouTube and I saw a video explaining the advancement of robots and their ability to make intelligent decisions. It got me thinking, why must we create a robot to act like humans when the planet has enough human resource.

Inevitably, I was inspired to think of two things; God’s mastery in human engineering and Capitalism. Why are companies so apprehensive towards transitioning to autonomous production systems? Could it be to maximise profit and reduce cost? Maybe.

The concept of capitalism is to ultimately persuade all factors to constitute to increased profit. A quintessential attribute of profit maximisation is cheap labour cost, disguised as “efficiency.”

Here’s where the AI comes in; seeing as AI is the incorporation of computer software engineering, which pioneers a robot to ultimately simulate desired human activity using coding language, mega companies that are involved in bulk production, for example, are likely to engage in such investments to cut costs.

Machines can work prolonged hours without rest, they do not require wages neither do they need any incentive. However, with increased machine efficiency comes redundancy, AKA losing jobs.

Businesses thrive off of demand, demand arises because there’s need and humans are needy, they are soft, literally, as opposed to machines of course, hence the reason we work. We work to afford that which we need. In the absence of work, which is a primary source of income for some, the following are likely; debt, homelessness and hunger to name a few.

Writing this is my form of coping with what is being subtly overlooked in our livelihood and the implication it may have on society. In as much as it may be inevitable for our world to rid of Artificial Intelligence, let’s embrace the art of performing the smallest of tasks before the robots do them for us, that’s if there are any tasks left.

I choose to agree with this. AI can be viewed from different perspectives e.g. Business, religious, technological, medical etc. And it has its own pros and cons. I feel as if one thing we can do as humans is it to understand and set the limits to what and how AI can operate, that way we could benefit from AI and avoid some of the threats it comes with.

For instance, in the production sector, AI is helping with increasing efficiency by cutting costs and reducing the production time. This is good but just as you have stated in the blog, people tend to lose jobs. Yes with advancement in AI comes mass unemployment. Now the question is, how are…

Oh wow! This is brilliant insight and I'm particularly fascinated the question that you posed, "why were humans created."

I'll give more clarity on next week's blog as we are in #Artificial_July.
